VAA Art Pavilion
at the Alaska State Fair

For the third consecutive year, the Valley Arts Alliance hosted the Art Pavilion at the Craftsman House during the 2009 Alaska State Fair, from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7.

As in previous years, the Art Pavilion featured original art, and only original art, including painting, photography, pottery, and fiber and metal art. Local artists were available daily from 2 to 4pm to answer questions about their art and to give demonstrations. And on Saturday and Sunday the Alaska Wildbird Rehab Center brought live wild birds to the Art Pavilion to act as models for artists and photographers.

The Art Pavilion continues to be a quiet oasis in the midst of a hectic fair.
