"Green Hearts"

"Green Hearts" is a gathering of Green-Hearted (and -Minded) folks in the depth of an Alaskan winter who can't wait for spring! This Valley Arts Alliance event took place at the Mat-Su College Greenhouse at Snodgrass Hall.
Several classrooms were generously made available by the Mat-Su College for presentations and talks about gardening. Representatives from the Mat-Su College, the University of Alaska Anchorage, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the Alaska Pacific University, as well as representatives from the Valley Garden Club, the North Root Garden Club, the Mat-Su Master Gardeners, the Rock Garden Society, the Future Farmers of America, and the Alaska Botanical Garden generously shared their knowledge.
A special treat was the Alaska Wild Bird Rehab Center, giving a presentation with their education birds. Local artists displayed garden related art, local musicians performed, and poets read selected excerpts, throughout Snodgrass Hall, making this a wonderful spring-like day to remember!

"Green Hearts" is a gathering of Green-Hearted (and -Minded) folks in the depth of an Alaskan winter who can't wait for spring! This Valley Arts Alliance event took place at the Mat-Su College Greenhouse at Snodgrass Hall.
Several classrooms were generously made available by the Mat-Su College for presentations and talks about gardening. Representatives from the Mat-Su College, the University of Alaska Anchorage, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the Alaska Pacific University, as well as representatives from the Valley Garden Club, the North Root Garden Club, the Mat-Su Master Gardeners, the Rock Garden Society, the Future Farmers of America, and the Alaska Botanical Garden generously shared their knowledge.
A special treat was the Alaska Wild Bird Rehab Center, giving a presentation with their education birds. Local artists displayed garden related art, local musicians performed, and poets read selected excerpts, throughout Snodgrass Hall, making this a wonderful spring-like day to remember!
