The International Gallery of Contemporary Art, located at 427 D Street in Anchorage, is hosting an exhibit of sculpture created during past Valley Arts Alliance Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fests. This exhibit starts with a First Friday opening on May 4, from 5:30 until 7:30, and runs through May 26, 2012.
The Valley Arts Alliance Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fest is an annual event held at the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry in Wasilla in June. Artists from across the country gather to cast unique iron sculptures, create Raku pottery, and engage in other similar “fiery” events.
In the weeks preceding the VAA Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fest, Pat Garley offers workshops in metal casting and mold making at his studio in Palmer. These workshops conclude at the VAA Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fest, when these molds are poured with liquid iron from the fiery cupola.

The Valley Arts Alliance Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fest is an annual event held at the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry in Wasilla in June. Artists from across the country gather to cast unique iron sculptures, create Raku pottery, and engage in other similar “fiery” events.
In the weeks preceding the VAA Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fest, Pat Garley offers workshops in metal casting and mold making at his studio in Palmer. These workshops conclude at the VAA Art on Fire Iron Pour Art Fest, when these molds are poured with liquid iron from the fiery cupola.
